Frequently Asked Questions

What's a Kei Mini Truck?

Japanese "Kei Mini-trucks" are mini utility trucks that have two or four seats, fully enclosed cab, A/C and heat, with a 6'x 4' cargo bed.  These trucks are powered by liquid cooled 3 cylinder 660cc gasoline engines with shift on the fly 2WD to 4WD.  We import the trucks from Japan and convert them into the best off road utility vehicles on the market. These little trucks will go anywhere and keep you warm or cool and dry. Some even come with power dump beds. Jumbo cabs and 4 doors are also available. They are very easy to drive, handle great, and have plenty of power.

Why can't mini trucks be used on public roadways?

These types of vehicles were not intended for use on roadways in the U.S. They are not in compliance with either U.S. DOT or EPA standards, and it is not lawful to operate mini-cabs on public roads or highways.

What is Japan's vehicle Maintenance Policy?

Basically, all registered cars and trucks are required to go through bi-annual maintenance checks. Vehicles are inspected carefully and required work must be completed in order to renew registration. All vehicles in Japan are kept in excellent condition. If they fail to pass inspection the fees can be very costly. This is the reason these trucks are kept in such great condition.

How fast will a mini truck go?

Our trucks have a speed limiting device on them which limits the speed to under 25mph. This is the law...No exceptions!
